The structure of the Ubbink / Nortland wooden swimming pools is made of Northern Pine, coming from the cold regions of Scandinavia and Russia; the copings in Northern white fir. There, the harsh climate creates particularly difficult growing conditions for the trees. This gives the wood a very fine grain, the presence of smaller knots and mechanical resistance among the best of resinous species. These woods, unlike others, are not naturally durable for outdoor use. They nevertheless benefit from an interesting characteristic: they are impregnable. This means that a fungicide and insecticide treatment can be applied to the wood to give the wood much greater resistance to attacks by insects, fungi and termites
Depending on the treatments and processes used, the resistance obtained is more or less great. It is characterized by usage classes for the products obtained. The use class corresponding to use in a completely dry environment is class 1, that for the hostile environment (marine environment) is class 5.
The structures of the UBBINK wooden swimming pool are treated in class 4 corresponding to the use of wood in a systematically humid environment, in contact with the ground.
To further strengthen our quality requirements, we finally require the treatment station to be CTB-P+ certified, this which guarantees the quality impregnation process.
